Doppel builds digital twins of organizations to identify, categorize, and optimize organizational slack. By ingesting historical communication data, it simulates workflows using large language models to pinpoint exactly where human labor adds genuine value — and where process inefficiencies and redundant roles exist.
Two kinds of slack
Idiosyncratic slack is created by inefficiencies within the organization itself: approval chains nobody remembers designing, meetings that exist to schedule other meetings, roles whose output no downstream process consumes. It was always there; the twin makes it visible.
Systemic slack is newer, and stranger: it is the time freed up by adopting AI that the organization hasn't yet recognized or redeployed. When a task that took a team a week now takes an afternoon, the recovered capacity doesn't announce itself — it dissipates into inbox management unless leadership can see it. Doppel measures it so it can be used.
What leaders do with a twin
With slack mapped and categorized, leaders can systematically target automation where it removes drudgery rather than value, protect employees from burnout by rebalancing load the twin shows is uneven, and eliminate the artificial, self-important bureaucracies that survive only because no one could previously prove they added nothing.
Status
Doppel is currently a concept and design write-up. The simulation backend is planned for a future phase; this page will grow into the technical documentation as it's built.
